“Pañca-'hi, bhikkhave, aṅgehi |
"Five-(of)-these, *********, factors |
samannāgatā vācā |
possessed (by) speech, |
su-bhāsitā hoti, |
{makes it} well-spoken ****, |
no dub-bhāsitā, |
not badly-spoken, |
ana-vajjā ca an-anuvajjā ca viññūnaṃ. |
blame-less, ** not-reproachable ** (by the) wise. |
Katamehi pañcahi? |
What five? |
Kālena ca bhāsitā hoti, |
(at the) proper-time ** {it is} spoken ****, |
saccā ca bhāsitā hoti, |
Truth ** {is} spoken ****, |
saṇhā ca bhāsitā hoti, |
Softly [, gently] {it is} spoken ****, |
Attha-saṃhitā ca bhāsitā hoti, |
Beneficial-things ** {are} spoken ****, |
Metta-cittena ca bhāsitā hoti. |
(with) good-will-(in)-mind ** {it is} spoken ****. |
Imehi kho, bhikkhave, pañcahi aṅgehi |
These indeed, monks, (are) five factors |
